If you know me, you know we spend a lot of time outside as a family. I’m a very outdoorsy mom and love that my kids are as well! Good clothes for the outdoors make a great gift. There are so many option here. My top pick is also one of the most expensive but will make an outdoorsy mom so happy! The Suunto 7 is one of the most durable fitness tracker watches I found. What earned it a spot here is the fact that it actually connects to maps while OFFLINE, making it unique and even more useful to adventure moms like me. It comes in a variety of colors too. Other great options include the FitBit Charge 4 or Garmin Vivoactive.

Gifts for Hiking Moms

Hiking with kids has a lot of challenges, the biggest of which is carrying a child with them. While I have entire posts dedicated to hiking with a baby and hiking with a toddler, this is all about mom.

Hiking Child Carriers

We use the Deuter Kid Comfort hiking pack which I love and so has both our kids. It has plenty of storage and adjusts great for both my husband (6ft 1in) and me (5ft 1 in) and we have both logged hundreds of miles wearing it for both our kids.

Some other carriers that I like (but haven’t tested myself) for kids that are ready to start walking on their own are the Piggy Back Rider and the Freeloader. Both are designed for older kids that will walk but might need to take extended breaks.

Trekking Poles

My knees were killing me lugging my toddler up and down mountains until my husband got me a pair of trekking poles. They took the pressure off my joints and allowed me to do more hiking while carrying our son. I love the Black Diamond ergo, cork handle ones that he got me and they would make a great gift for a hiking mom.
