Some Custom Crochet
These are some of my favorite custom crochet projects that I’ve done. There is a 12-inch Mario, which is probably the most detailed project I’ve done to date. An elephant doll with removable clothes is a gift that keeps giving since I can keep making new clothes for it as new gifts! There is a small hummingbird with beautiful colors in the wings and a Dalmatian costume made for a newborn photo shoot. See the Lotso Huggin Bear I made and my first order ever, a two-foot-tall rainbow giraffe. My two most custom pieces are a very special lovey for a little boy was a rare disorder and a warm baby blanket with a baseball theme. Last is a unique wedding gift I made for my cousin and his bride, two peas in a pod.
Enjoy these projects and let me know what you think! I hope they inspire some imagination and creativity in yourself. If you are interested in ordering a custom project please contact me!
Crochet Mario
My husbands best friend, who was the best man at our wedding, loves all things Nintendo and Mario. So as a special gift to him before he moved away I made him a 12-inch tall crochet Mario! This is still one of my favorite projects that I have ever made. It takes several hours and consists of several small parts that had to be sewn together. The eyes are made of felt and also sewn on. It’s the most detailed crochet project I have done to date. One day I may have to make one for my son!

Elephant Doll
A very special little girl was turning one so, of course, I had to create a very special gift. Her mom told me how much she loved elephants so this 14-inch doll seemed perfect. The elephant is wearing a pink dress that is removable so that she can wear multiple outfits. Maybe I’ll have to make more clothes for her second birthday next summer! This was a very fun and super cute project made all the better by how much she loved it!

Crochet Hummingbird
This was created for my cousins birthday. Hummingbirds are her favorite animal. It is such a cute little project! I love the way it looks and the colors worked so well. The red body really pops, and the blue and green wings really add another dimension. I was inspired by the colors of a Scarlet Macaw (one of my favorite birds). It would work as an ornament or just as a cute decoration.

Dalmatian Newborn Costume
One of my best friends had a new baby! He is an adorable little boy and he needed the perfect outfit and props for his photo shoot. They designed his nursery with a 101 Dalmatians theme, so logically he needed his own Dalmatian costume and prop bone! I made this design, complete with a hat, diaper cover, cape (with his name on the “collar”), and bone. It came out even better than I could have imagined!

Crochet Lotso Huggin Bear
Everyone loves Toy Story! This is a character from Toy Story 3, Lotso Huggin Bear. It was so fun to create as I love these movies. He came out larger than I anticipated. I intended to make a 12-inch-tall bear and it turned into a bear that was closer to 15-inches! The pinkish, purple yarn I used is supposed to look more like the used, old bear as it looked in most of the movie. My favorite part of this project was the eyes. They are so expressive!

Two Foot Crochet Giraffe
This was my first order ever. A former co-worker wanted a rainbow giraffe. Originally she said she wanted one that was about 18-inches tall. Like usual, I made it a little larger than she asked! This giraffe ended up being about 2-feet-tall! I loved the dark rainbow yarn that I used and since her favorite color is blue I put blue spots and horns on it. It turned out so big that the head drooped a little bit, but I thought it still looked great. The big, button eyes just beg you to love it!

MCADD Zebra Lovey
My childhood friend’s son has a rare disorder called MCADD. This causes him to have trouble breaking down fats into energy for his little body. It is something he was born with and thanks to newborn screening it was caught early and he is doing very well. The mascot for this disorder is a zebra and she wanted a custom project that would proudly display the zebra. This is the creation I came up with, an adorable lovey for an adorable little boy. Into the stripes of the blanket I crocheted in the letter MCADD and he loves bringing it to his doctor’s appointments and showing it off!

Baseball Baby Blanket
I have a lot of family in Minnesota, including a cousin that had a little baby boy that was born in December. He was going to need a warm blanket for the cold winters there! My cousin was a baseball player and lover so I wanted to make something that would reflect his passion and the colors of the nursery, navy and gray. This is the beautiful design I came up with. True LOVE, with a baseball “O” and an infield “V”. It was a lot of fun to design and make. The corners are baseball granny squares that I attached to the main central part. A special custom piece for the new family!

Two Peas in a Pod Crochet Wedding Gift
When my cousin got married I decided to make a very special present for him. He is a vegetarian and works to promote sustainable living with local youth. His new wife has the same passions. Therefore the project I came up with was perfect for these two that love each other and veggies! This was my gift for the happy bride and groom, inspirational people and two peas in a pod.
