BBQ Apple Bacon Pulled Pork

This delicious crock pot BBQ apple bacon pulled pork is great for a crowd but you might not want to share! It makes a huge amount but it is even better as leftovers!

BBQ Bacon Pulled Pork

 4 lbs bone-in picnic pork shoulder, as much fat trimmed as possible (alternate: you can use 2 lbs boneless pork tenderloin)
 1 package of bacon, chopped
 1 lg apple, peeled and diced
 1 lg onion, chopped
 1 cup ketchup
  cup Worcestershire sauce
 3 tbsp packed brown sugar
 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
 2 tsp salt

Cook chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally until bacon is crisp. Using a slotted spoon, transfer to a paper towel to drain grease.

Add bacon pieces and all over ingredients (except pork) to the crock pot and stir until combined.

Add pork and stir to cover it in sauce. Cover and cook on low 8 hours or high for 4 hours.

Remove pork and shred with two forks. Mush the apples into the sauce, then return pork to the crock pot. Stir pork and sauce together, cover, and cook an additional 30-60 minutes.

Serve on slider buns or dinner rolls. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator for lunches.
