Baseball Themed Party – Inspiration for Your Next Party
We are a baseball loving family. So, of course, I had to throw a baseball themed party when my son turned two! It was so much fun decorating and coming up with a fun menu to fit into the baseball theme. These ideas can be used for throwing a party for baseball fans of any age and for any reason, not just birthdays!

Baseball Themed Menu
We had a small, family party for my son so it was kept pretty simple when it came to decorating and let the food be the main attraction. All of the food I served was baseball themed. It was meant to be decorative as well as eaten!
Snacks
Our main snack was made out of crackers, cheese, and fruit. This was my baseball diamond display! This was fun to create and looked so cool that people were hesitant to eat it. It is sure to impress guests at any party. I cut the cheese to look like bases and used crackers for the track. Cantelope made up the dirt with green grapes as grass. Then, I completed it with a blueberry “wall” and strawberry “fans”.
A baseball game isn’t complete without peanuts. So, I put out a big bowl front and center. Then, we had veggies and dip, nuts, and popcorn! There was a little something for everyone.
Main Meal
Hot Dogs! What else would you eat at a baseball game? I served hot dogs and served them with my chili to make it more filling for us adults. These made for a perfect baseball meal.
Dessert
I thought about making my son a cake, but instead, I thought little baseball cupcakes would fit my theme better. They came out looking so cute, I was really happy with my decisions. My son loved them too!
Baseball Themed Decorations
I’m always pretty simple when it comes to decorating. For my baseball party, since it was all about the food, I used baseball tablecloths, napkins, cups, and plates and a fun centerpiece for the table. These were all relatively cheap and really did a lot for the theme. We are Yankee fans, so some of our decorations had their logo on them.
There were a couple of other decorations that I made myself. I made a “concessions” banner to hang over the food. Then, for my son’s high chair, I made a “Captain #2” sign. It was perfect because, as Yankee fans, we love Derek Jeter (he was captain and wore the number 2). My son even wore a Jeter jersey! Read all about how to make the concessions banner here!
I also made a wooden home plate sign that I painted with laces like a baseball and my son’s initials. Then, I made it look like it had been used with some brown “dirt” smudges. These wood signs are available for order by emailing me at katcaliff@califfcreations.com.
A Perfect Baseball Themed Day
This party was so much fun to create and even more fun to enjoy. These ideas could also be used for a party for a baseball team. It makes for the perfect party for the baseball lover in your family!
