25 Family Earth Day Activities
Earth day is a day to get outside, enjoy nature, and do some good. It happens on April 22nd of every year and helps to raise awareness about environmental issues. There are some simple things that you can do as a family to celebrate this day and teach your children a little bit about taking care of this beautiful planet we all call home. Pick up trash anywhere you can. Recycle. Go outside and enjoy nature. Do something positive for the environment wherever you go.
Here are 25 ideas to do as a family this Earth Day.
1. Go for a picnic.
2. Take a hike.
3. Pick up trash.
4. Go to a park.
5. Take a walk in your neighborhood.
6. Do laundry and/or dishes together and teach your kids about water conservation.
7. Paint a natural landscape, like a tree.
8. Collect sticks and make some art.
9. Go to the beach.
10. Build a birdfeeder or a birdhouse.
11. Plant some flowers or some vegetable. If you already have a garden, work together in the garden, or plant something new.
12. Have a car-free day.
13. Get crafty with recycled materials.
14. Hold a yard sale and donate the proceeds to an environmental organization.
15. Plant a tree.
16. Make your own reusable bags out of old clothes.
17. Start a compost bin.
18. Volunteer for the day.
19. Go to a farmer’s market.
20. Visit a National or State Park.
21. Make a paper mache globe out of recycled paper.
22. Unplug your devices for the day.
23. Make a trash rainbow.
24. Sort recycling.
25. Go for a family bike ride.
