Easy DIY Crib Wrap (To Repurpose your Swaddle Blankets)

When my son started to stand in his crib it was inevitable that he would start chewing on the sides. Teething is tough and he put everything in his mouth. We purchased a crib wrap for the front of his crib and he simply moved on to the sides. I didn’t want to buy one for the sides since they aren’t exactly cheap. If you are like I was at this point, then you have a lot of swaddle blankets sitting around. I decided to use these for the simplest solution to my problem, to use these blankets to cover the side rails and protect the furniture.
When selecting which blanket I was going to use I looked at the thickness and the weave. I didn’t want one that would potentially snag on a tooth or anything! Since my son was born in February in New York, we had a couple of flannel swaddle blankets that were perfect. Other clothes that I would recommend would be cotton ones. You want one with a tight weave and as much cushion as you can.

Taking the swaddle blanket, fold it into the length of your side rail. Then wrap around and tuck under the other side. Use any ribbon or soft string you have laying around the house and tie it around the blanket and the railing in order to secure it in place. Make sure that you tie it down in multiple spots, going in between spaces on the side of the crib.

Voila! You have now repurposed your unused swaddle blankets into a fully functional crib wrap! That was easy right? What is your favorite way to repurposed swaddle blankets?
